Real men shudder at the sound of jorts

Happy HUMP DAY everyone. Wednesdays are my favorite day of the week, because it makes me feel so much closer to Friday! So I figured since I have been getting so many request from guys, that I would do a top seven list for guys. This list will compile the top 7 "never wear these" and the top 6 "go for these instead" looks for guys!

1. JORTS (jean shorts) If you are not under 15 or over 45, please men do not wear these awful things. I can't understand what would make a guy walk into a clothing store and pick these up and then put them on and look and the mirror and say.. WOW THESE LOOK AWESOME ONE ME! Even thinking about men wearing jorts is making my skin crawl. However, if you are trying to get rid of someone you're dating, put a pair of these on with the next "never wear these" ideas.

2. Hawaiian print shirts: I understand it's always 5 o'clock somewhere, but please go to your closet now and get rid of any of these shirts you might own. I do want to add in a small disclaimer if you have one that you wear to luau themed parties then that is okay, but please only for this occasion. For the ultimate outfit fail, check out the best way to top off your jorts and Hawaiian print shirt below.

3. Sansocks - (Socks with sandals): The real winner in my opinion, the winner of MAJOR FAIL that is. When I see this look on a man, I see a guy that is afraid of commitment and lazy. He either went to bed with his socks on and didn't want to take them off in the morning or he couldn't decided he didn't know if he wanted to wear tennis shoes or sandals so he went for sansocks.

4. Paisley printed shirts- You're not a couch cushion, pillow, or bedspread so please don't dress like one. If you want to re-purpose your paisley shirt make a nice accent pillow or a toy for your dog to check on.

5. Shirts with silly sayings on them: I don't feel like there is a need for a lengthy description for this one. I just need to know why men feel the need to wear these??

6.Sagging pants: Every time I see a man with their pants down like this it makes me want to pull their pants down and really embarrass them. Then I think to myself if they already have their pants half way down their butts, that's probably embarrassing enough.

7.White tank tops (wife beaters): These should never be worn alone, they look dirty and trashy. I am okay if you wear this under something, but please not alone. That is all!

Top 10 "Go for these" Trends
1. Color: Don't be afraid to own color. Here are some funny easy suggestions

Brooks Brothers blue dress shirt: $59.50 Click here to buy
This shirt is a nice option for men looking to get away from the standard pale blue that every man in my office wears on a daily basis.

Express pink dress shirt: $59.90 Purchase directly here
There is nothing I hate more than a man that says he can't wear pink. Strut your stuff in this express pink button down and I guarantee people will see the confidence radiating from you.

2.Tailored/Fitted dress pants-fitted not to be confused with tight dress pants that look like you can't move or the seams will rip pants.

Express black photographer pants: $69.90 Purchase directly here Buy me
Okay guys lets have a real talk moment here...go into your closet right now and throw away all your wide leg pleated front dress pants...no one wants too see you in those.

3. Professional watch: This is something I highly recommend splurging on.

Michael Kors $195.00 One click buy from Macys
I know you might love your Timex watch from the 90's but it's time to let it go and find a nice watch with a leather band.

4. Stylish work appropriate dress shoes: For this I always suggest going with Italian leather-while it might be pricey in the beginning, it's worth it in the long haul.

Johnston and Murphy $155.00 Love these These are great work shoes, if you buy these now and take good care of them you could have them for over 6 years easily.

5. Printed shirt without graphics and pilsbury doughboy
Cotton-linen tee in blue whale stripe

Striped Shirt: Jcrew $49.50 Hey you, buy me! This is something you can be comfortable in and still look polished and put together.

6. Casual Blazer: I prefer a light gray with jeans or khaki

Gray Express Blazer $198.00 Even more options This is something you're able to wear with nice tailored pants(as mentioned above) or jeans and your striped shirt from above for a more casual look

Now get out there and own your new outfits!!

How to "UN-GRANIFY" floral

Okay so for those of you that read this title and said, "un-granify, what does that mean?" Please keep moving, no I am joking you're right where you belong. So many people associate floral with being an old lady trend or something their moms would wear. So your mom might wear floral print items, but there are so many great ways to make floral look awesome and rock that mother...

I was inspired last night by all the flowers and trees blooming and decided to plan my outfit around that. I ended up searching high and low for this skirt, I call it my oldie but goodie and am so glad I was able to find it in all the packed boxes.

Here is my spring inspired look--sorry about the shades it was super sunny!

I wanted to play up the pink in the skirt so I did so by adding a pink ruffled shirt. I chose the ruffle top to carry the dimension from the skirt throughout the outfit. My watch is gold and silver which I matched to my necklace that is also silver with gold around the crystal center. As for earrings I chose gold earrings with crystal jewels that complimented the necklace and watch perfectly. The nude flats were used to make my legs look longer since the skirt is a bit longer than I typically wear and I am on the shorter side so faking long legs is a plus.

  1. Oversized Sunglasses: purchased in Belize while on my cruise These are fun options
  2.  Ruffle shirt: Express (super old) Love this sleeveless option
  3. Floral print skirt: Talbot's High- rise option for Asos
  4. Nude Flats: Target Click here to check them out
  5. Necklace: Brighton (no longer available) Digging this alternative even more
  6. Boyfriend two toned Watch: Fossil Love this watch
  7. Earrings: I got these as a gift so I am not sure where they came from
If I wanted to change this up I would use: black heels, white crisp collared button up, blazer, or a green ruffle top.

I would stay away from any form of blue, because it would clash with the black background and pink and green floral print.

Feedback and questions are welcomed and greatly appreciated. I can only grow with the continued constructive criticism from others.

Confidence is the key

Happy Monday!! I hope everyone thoroughly enjoyed their Holiday weekend and got to spend time with their families and friends.

Lately I have had numerous people reach out to me saying they need help with what to wear or that they always feel like they look bad when they try. The biggest key to fashion is CONFIDENCE. The way I see it is that if you are confident your outfit will look 100 times better. Own what you are wearing and the compliments will start coming from all over the place.

With that being said, let's move on to my outfit of the day. This morning I was super tired because Ben left at 4 am to go back to Florida and I didn't sleep well last night. I wanted something comfortable that would keep my cool in this 80+ weather, but was still office appropriate.

I apologize in advance about the picture quality as this was taken at work where there wasn't many options for a back drop.

I was so excited to put on this skirt this morning, because the moment I saw it at the Loft I knew I had to have it. (I am obsessed with lace and frill) In order for my eyes to pop I made sure to wear a bright color that would compliment my natural eye color. I wanted to bring the shine from my watch and accessories all the way down my outfit and I did that by adding these metallic sandals.

Ways to change this outfit around: chambray shirt, purple shirt, cognac wedges, gold accessories, statement necklace

For a complete list of where to find my outfit, please see the below list and click on the links for alternative options.
  1. Loft Shirt (Old-no longer sold) Similar style at Ann Taylor

  4. Fossil Watch I love over sized watches
  5. Talbot's Necklace (no longer sold) Love this alternative even more
  6. Claire's earrings These go with everything
I hope you enjoyed this post!

What would you like to read/see on my blog?

So let's cut to the chase here since this is my first post. When I started this blog I was bound and determined to post on it everyday, but as you can probably guess that didn't happen. Over this past week I have been going through an emotional roller coaster where I have been trying to figure out exactly what I want to do and where I want to go with my life. I felt as if there was something missing that was here before (minus my husband who now lives in FL for work). That's when it hit me like a ton of watermelons (bricks seemed too cliche in this instance) I missed writing. blogging, and fashion. I have always been passionate about writing and clothes since I was really young. I have decided to make a point to start my fashion blog again, so here is where you come in.

Things I need to make this happen:

1. dedicated readers
2. readers that will harass me when I don't post
3. ideas of what you would like me to post on here (Please keep it PG and fashion related)

Please leave a comment below with any suggestions you may have!

Also, I want to give a huge thanks to everyone that has supported me via phone calls, Facebook, and texts about me starting my blog back up.
